Window 3 is twelve for twelve as AF-C3-12 departs for Promethea

The twelfth Ares Titan of the window lifted off from Pad 39-T with 119 colonists aboard.

— Ares Frontier, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARFX) today launched AF-C3-12, the twelfth crewed Ares Titan of Launch Window 3, from Pad 39-T at 14:32 UTC. The ship carries 119 members of Cohort 3, three Talos T4 units and a full resupply module bound for Promethea. The booster was caught by the Pad 39-T tower six minutes and fifty seconds after liftoff.

With twelve launches in thirty-six days, Window 3 is the fastest crewed launch campaign in history. Pad turnaround averaged five hours and forty-one minutes.

“Twelve for twelve,” said Kael Osterman, founder and CEO. “People told us a migration was impossible. Then they told us it was reckless. Now they're watching it on a livestream. To the families of Cohort 3: your loved ones are on the way to the best-equipped settlement ever built. Keep aiming for the stars.”

Six Titans remain on the Window 3 manifest. AF-C3-13 is scheduled to launch in three days.

About Ares Frontier: Founded in 2017, Ares Frontier designs, builds and operates the Ares Titan launch system, the Talos robotic workforce, and the Mars settlements of Elysium and Promethea. Ares Frontier is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Statement

Ares Frontier statement on coordinated misinformation targeting Elysium families

Independent analysis finds the overwhelming majority of #BreathlessOnMars activity is inauthentic.

Read statement +Close −

— Over the past several months, a hashtag campaign known as #BreathlessOnMars has spread false and distressing claims about the health of Elysium residents, including claims of illness, carbon dioxide poisoning and mass casualties. These claims are false.

Independent analysis commissioned by Ares Frontier found that more than eighty percent of accounts participating in the campaign show signs of coordinated inauthentic behavior, including links to known botnets and foreign state-affiliated networks. Many posts make claims that are physically impossible, including one popular thread attributing colonist illness to escaped bees. Ares Frontier has never sent bees to Mars.

The facts:

  • Elysium's triple-redundant life support has operated within limits every sol since landing.
  • Elysium mission operations report nominal status across all eight residential zones.
  • Elysium residents send hundreds of messages home every night through Ares Link.

We understand how hard distance is for the families of colonists. We urge them to rely on Ares Link, where they can hear directly from the people they love, rather than anonymous accounts. Families with concerns can reach our Family Liaison team at any time.

Pardons for Passports expands to asylum seekers and refugees

The expansion makes Cohort 4 the most diverse colonial cohort in history.

— Ares Frontier today welcomed the expansion of the federal Pardons for Passports initiative to include asylum seekers, refugees and individuals in removal proceedings. Eligible participants may renounce their claim to citizenship in exchange for the closure of pending proceedings and a guaranteed seat in a future colonial cohort.

“The President called me directly,” said Osterman. “He said, ‘Kael, what if we gave these people a future instead of a sentence?’ I said of course. We have families from South Sudan, Myanmar and Honduras, people fleeing death squads, and soon their kids will be learning in the same classrooms as the children of MIT engineers.”

Renata Kowalczyk, President of Colonial Operations, said Cohort 4 recruitment centers will open at twelve Nexus regional hubs and at participating detention facilities beginning in October.

Promethea pre-arrival build complete; all six habitats pressurized

Talos crews finished the Arcadia dome eleven sols ahead of schedule.

— Ares Frontier today confirmed that the pre-arrival build of Promethea is complete. All six habitats (Beagle, Endeavor, Endurance, Discovery, Fram and Terra Nova) are pressurized and holding. The Arcadia dome, the hub track, the Mess and the amphitheater are finished, and the first hydroponic beds in Arcadia have been seeded.

The southeast extraction array has begun hydrothermal production from the Utopia ice sheet. “Ice is a feature, not a bug,” said Osterman. “Promethea is the first city on another planet that will never need a water shipment from Earth.”

Dr. Graham McKenzie, Director of Geological Operations, will oversee extraction and subsurface monitoring when Cohort 3 arrives.

Watch: Kael Osterman on Mars, opportunity and the future of work

An in-depth interview covering the test campaign, Cohort 1, and Pardons for Passports.

On the test campaign: “My investors understood we weren't building a rocket. We were building humanity's future. And in rocketry, if you can't stomach a few explosions, you don't belong in this business.”

On Cohort 1: “Mars' atmosphere behaves in ways we can't test on Earth. A planet-wide dust storm had altered atmospheric density. A pressure bubble formed, and our engines couldn't make the corrections fast enough.”

On the competition: “Darien Voss is instantiating technofeudalism with his AGI. Elena Nair offers to solve it by strapping goggles to your face so we can pretend we're somewhere else. Mars is about opportunity. A future. Freedom.”

Frontier Point achieves sub-six-hour pad turnaround

New propellant software removes legacy thermal conditioning holds.

Ares Frontier today completed a full pad turnaround at Pad 40-T in five hours and fifty-two minutes, down from thirty-one hours at the start of Window 2. The improvement was driven by software that compensates for thermal stratification during propellant loading, removing the need for a forty-minute post-fill recirculation hold.
